Forma Summer/Autumn International Programme 2008

We are delighted to present you with this information on Forma’s Summer/Autumn international programme, featuring Gina Czarnecki, Ryoji Ikeda and Lynette Wallworth.

Gina Czarnecki’s major new work Contagion was premiered to great acclaim at the Brisbane Festival on 18 July and runs until 3 August.

Ryoji Ikeda’s data.tron also opened at the MIC Toi Rerehiko in Auckland and runs until 15 August.

Ryoji Ikeda features in Paris’ Festival d’Automne programme with V≠L, his first major exhibition in France featuring works commissioned by Le Laboratoire. In November, Ikeda performs datamatics [ver 2.0] at the Centre Pompidou, following its acclaimed premiere there last year.

Two of Lynette Wallworth’s video installations – Hold: Vessel 1 & 2 and Invisible by Night – are highlights of the Mostly Mozart Festival at the Lincoln Center in New York, opening 31 July.

Lynette Wallworth’s work Evolution of Fearlessness features later in the year at the Melbourne International Arts Festival. This interactive installation has particular resonance as many of the women who feature in this work live in and around Melbourne.

Romaeuropa brings together breathtaking works that combine video, visual art, music, performance and improvisation. Ryoji Ikeda, Gina Czarnecki, Ulf Langheinrich, Charles Atlas and Fennesz represent different faces of the inventive artistic approaches made possible by the ever-increasing power of digital technologies.

Forma is one of Europe’s leading creative producing agencies which has collaborated with artists including Antony and the Johnsons, Charles Atlas, Juan Cruz, Graham Dolphin, Fennesz, Doug Fishbone, Carsten Nicolai, Lone Twin, Ryuichi Sakamoto, and Jane and Louise Wilson.
