The New Releases. Click For Infos.

Here is the latest from Paw Tracks/Carpark/Acute headquarters:

CARPARK
Takagi Masakatsu Journal For People cd/dvd is officially out!  We’re extremely excited to be working with Takagi again.  Check out the Takagi Masakatsu feature in the new issue of RES magazine if you can (it’s their 10 creators to watch in 2006 issue).  We’re currently offering a free mp3 from the JFP release at www.carparkrecords.com/masakatsu.mp3.  The cd/dvd is now available from our online shop and the audio will soon be available digitally.  Visit www.takagimasakatsu.com for more info.

More exciting news in that Carpark welcomes a new artist to the family.  Baltimore dueling-guitar duo Ecstatic Sunshine will be recording their Carpark debut next month for a fall release. If you live on the east coast be sure to check them out later this month.  (Tour dates at the bottom of the email.)  Also visit them at www.ecstaticsunshine.com.

Carpark is now offering our first digital-only release: the Montag “Goodbye Fear” EP.  You can buy it via iTunes here.  Montag is working on the full length follow-up to his “Alone Not Alone” cd.  For the new record, Montag has confirmed guest appearances by Anthony Gonzales of M83, Amy Millan of Stars and Broken Social Scene, and Au Revoir Simone.

In tour news, Belong is heading to Europe with Ariel Pink next month.  Download some of their fuzzed-out beauty at www.carparkrecords.com/belong.mp3. Greg Davis and Sebastien Roux are also hitting the European pavement.  Keith Fullerton Whitman is heading down under. And Montag is heading to Mexico for shows in June.

Oh and if we haven’t mentioned it, we have a brand new CARPARK website.  Please pay us a visit.

PAW TRACKS
The First Nation self-titled debut stunner will hit the shops on June 13th.  Look out for First Nation features in VICE and The Fader.  Also visit www.myspace.com/firstnationlove for more info.  The First Nationers a taking a little breather after a 3 week tour opening for the Animal Collective.  They’ll be playing in New York a few times during the spring.  Summer tour dates are currently in the works.

Did we not mention our other recent Paw Tracks releases?  Terrestrial Tones “Dead Drunk” cd/lp and First Nation “Coronation” 7 are just over a month old.  Terrestrial Tones features Dave Portner of the Animal Collective and Eric Copeland of Black Dice.  Fans of both bands will not be disappointed.  Pitchfork even gave it a good review.

The Paw Tracks shop is now fully stocked with all the new Animal Collective apparel.  Visit our online shop to pick up the newest Animal Collective tshirts, hoodies, and tote bag designs.  Get ‘em while they’re hot!

Paw Tracks is planning the reissue of the Animal Collective “Hollindagain” live record this fall.  There has also been chatter recently about a Panda Bear split 12 with an as yet-to-be-specified group.

Ariel Pink is heading to Europe next month. Mr. Los Angeles is hard at work on the follow-up to our re-release of “House Arrest”.  Well keep you updated on the progress.  And check out the new www.arielpink.com.

ACUTE
New old stuff!  After a little break Acute is back.

First up is the complete discography of early 80s electro-acoustic innovators Ike Yard, including their releases on Factory and Crepuscule, some unreleased tracks and some live stuff. Their sound is hard to define, fitting somewhere between the NYC no-wave scene they followed and the german avant-electronics of the Neue Deutch Welle. You just have to hear it.

Also coming up, we have 3 full CDs of music from The Lines. Talk about cult followings, not to many people remember this London-based post-punk/new wave band, but those that do have been anxiously awaiting something like this for years. We hope to introduce a whole new generation of cultish music hipsters to what we think was one of the finest bands of the era, from subtle power-pop charm, to angular post-punk angst to dubbed out rhythmic bliss.
www.acuterecords.com is changing.  Please take a look.

As for the other projects were working on, the wait continues!
