Ariel Pink Reissue And More. Click For Infos.

Happy New Year everyone!

PAW TRACKS

We are reissuing Ariel Pink’s “House Arrest” on January 24th.  It’s a real humdinger.  Some say “House Arrest” is Ariel’s best so far.  We’ll let you decide.  Ariel Pink was on the cover of LA Weekly last month.  Check out the feature here http://www.laweekly.com/ink/06/02/features-albert.php

Ariel Pink and Paw Tracks are having a “Write Your Own Ariel Pink Song” Contest.  Please send us your lyrics by the end of the month (Paw Tracks, PO Box 42374, Washington DC, 20015). Ariel will hand pick his favorite set of lyrics and write a song for them on his next record!  It’s that easy.

Ariel Pink and Carpark artist Belong (see Carpark section below) will be touring North America together next month.  All live dates are at the end of this email.  A European tour is in the works for the spring.

The Animal Collective will be touring in February and March with new Paw Tracks signing First Nation.  First Nation will be releasing their first seven inch “Coronation” on March 7th.  A First Nation full-length record is planned for June.

Terrestrial Tones (featuring Dave Portner of Animal Collective and Eric Copeland of Black Dice) will release their third record “Dead Drunk” on Paw Tracks on March 7th.  It’s a real mish mash of sounds but suffice to say Paw Tracks fans won’t be disappointed.  You can even dance to a couple of em!

Paw Tracks is also planning a reissue of Animal Collective “Hollindagain”.  This lp originally came out in an edition of 200.  We are not sure exactly when this reissue will come out, but hopefully sooner than later this year.

CARPARK

Carpark releases “October Language” by New Orleans duo Belong on February 7th.  “Melodic Noise” is a nice way to sum it up.  If you are into Fennesz, My Bloody Valentine, and Flying Saucer Attack, this one will be up your alley.  We are offering a free mp3 at www.carparkrecords.com/belong.mp3.  The Belong boys will be touring with Ariel Pink next month so come to the show on the early side!

Greg Davis and Sebastien Roux are currently touring the west coast of North America in support of their Carpark cd “Paquet Surprise”.  Greg will also be going to Iceland and Mexico for shows and festivals in the coming months.

Carpark will release Montag “Goodbye Fear”, its first digital-only release, next month. The EP was originally released last year in Japan only on the Rallye label.  “Goodbye Fear” should tide Montag fans over until the next full length, which is currently being recorded in Vancouver.

Takagi Masakatsu returns to Carpark in April after a 3 year sabbatical with his “Journal For People” cd/dvd.  We’re very excited to be working with Takagi again.  More info and Takagi Masakatsu releases soon!

ACUTE

It’s sorta like that Howard Jones song – “You can look at the menu but you just can’t eat.  You’re the fastest runner but you’re not allowed to win.”  That’s our situation at Acute.  We’re tantalizingly close to announcing new reissues.  But alas we cannot just yet.  Sorry to make you wait.  We promise it’ll be worth it!
